"As an artist, I explore the ideas of simplicity and depth, combining the two within my usage of the chiaroscuro style. The need to drown my paintings in such black and white becomes quite drastic and increasingly abstract. It transports my subjects into their own universe creating depth within the canvas. At the same time, it allows the viewer to participate intellectually completing the process by engaging their imagination."
